SAFETY
Stock ATV drivers must be fully clothed and wear a DOT approved helmet when hooked to
the eliminator. Long pants and long sleeves are recommended.
If an entrant is under 18 years of age, they must have a parental consent
form signed. We need these for insurance. Participants must be at least 12 years old to enter any mod
class.
Driver must be able to operate his or her machine in a
safe manor. This means being able to
reach foot pegs/floorboards and operate clutch, throttle and brake pedals. We
like to have safe and fun pulls!
Anyone in a mod or outlaw class must wear a full body fire suit with a
minimum S.F.I. rating of 3-2A/1. Fire suit, gloves, shoes and undergarments
are recommended if the drivers are strapped in and/or the machine has a roll
cage.
Fire extinguishers are mandatory on all
machines except stock.
Drivers must remain seated at all times on the ATV and keep both hands on
the handlebars while competing. (Absolutely No Standing)
Machine and driver tethers are recommended on all machines and required on
all mod machines.
No pulling machine can be running without a driver on the seat and the
tether must be hooked to driver at all times when hooked up
to eliminator.
Shields must cover entire snowmobile clutches and must be at least 1/8-inch
thick steel or ¼-inch aluminum.
Chain guards must wrap at least ¾ the way around the leading edge of all
the sprockets. The guards must be made of a suitable material to prevent the
chain from flying off in the event of a break.
All machines must have exhaust directed up or towards the back of the
machine. No pipes are to be pointed at the ground.
All RAILER TYPE MACHINES that compete in Mod or Outlaw classes are recommended
to have a roll bar or roll cage with a 4
point harness and must be 5" above drivers helmet. We recommend up to 1-3/4" O.D. x 0.95 thickness round stock. An inspection hole
will need to be drilled in tube so it can be inspected by tech. Roll cages are mandatory
in Unlimited classes. Cages must consist of two bars over the driver and two
bars down the back of the machine, all bars are to be secured to the tractor
frame. S.F.I. specs are recommended. Minimum thickness of bars is .095
or 13 gauge mild steel. Cages must be checked and pass tech before machine can
pull. S.F.I. 47.3 2,000 lb class specs.
No drivers or officials are allowed to consume alcohol or drugs on pull day
until their competition or duties are completed for that day.
Any official may stop and disqualify any puller guilty of unsafe driving.
(This includes in the pits.)
All decisions made by flagmen, eliminator operator, or rule officials are
final and non-appealable.
Track officials are not liable for any accident, injury or damage.
GENERAL RULES
Once a machine is hooked, you have choice to use a one-time 75-foot leeway
to stop and get pulled back to try again, but a machine adjustment must be
made. Double cones will mark the 75-foot spot. On dirt tracks, if a machine breaks on
the 1st attempt before the 75-foot mark, the machine can come back at the end
of that class to try again.
Once a class is started, there are no refunds for that class.
One pull per machine per class.
No nitrous oxide, nitro-methane, turbo chargers, or super chargers allowed.
This rule does not apply to unlimited classes.
No jerking the chain.
Pulling tracks will be 300 feet or shorter and 15 feet wide. If any part of
the pulling machine goes out of bounds, for any reason, it will be
disqualified for that class. Boundary lines are the inside of the cones.
A puller can spot the boat anytime left or right on the starting line, but
once in place it cannot be moved.
The class weight includes driver, machine, and additional weights with a 1%
leeway.
Any added weights must be securely fastened. If anything falls off the
machine or driver you will be disqualified from the class. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
4x4 ATV’s will be allowed to only to pull in the 4x4 classes, 1050# mod
and the outlaw classes.
All machines are limited to an overall length of 10ft, overall
width of 5ft, and
maximum wheelbase of 8ft, as measured from the center of the rear axle to center
of the front spindle with front wheels pointed straight ahead. Weights, weight
brackets and hitches are included in maximum overall length measurement. Wheelie bars are
not included in measurement due to it being safety equipment.
All pulling machines must have working brakes. If a machine has only rear
brakes, they must be mounted directly to rear axle. (No jackshaft brakes
alone.)
All pulling machines must have a catch can or bottle for all fluids.
No chains, duals, or spikes allowed in tires.
Mod machine hitches must extend at least 2 inches behind center of axle and
not exceed a maximum height of 13 inches up from the ground, as measured on a
flat, level surface, with fully inflated tires. Hitches must be solid and
cannot move in any direction while pulling.
All hitches will be measured with driver and weights while sitting on the
machine.
No trailer hitch balls or cable hitches allowed.
Wheelie bars and bumper bars are required on all mod and outlaw pulling
machines. The bumper bars must extend 4" above the skid surface of the
wheelie bar at a 90-degree angle to the ground.
If two pullers tie without going out the end, the first puller gets 1st, 2nd
place goes to the puller that tied the first puller.
No 2wd machines allowed in the stock 4x4 classes.
All 2-stroke machines must have a working silencer.
Exhibition pulls are allowed if time permits.
You may have a competitor torn down and inspected by a tech official if you
compete in the same class. Tear down fees must be paid in cash to a pulling
official before a tear down will be initiated. These fees will be $50/2 stroke
and $100/4stoke. Protested competitors must disassemble their own engines for
inspection by the tech official. If protested machine is legal, the tear down
fee goes to that machine owner. If the protested machine is illegal, it will
be disqualified in the appropriate classes for that day. If caught cheating a
second time, it will be disqualified for the rest of the year. Anyone refusing
to be torn down will be considered guilty of cheating. Teardown fees are
returned to protester if the machine is declared illegal.
The Pulling Association reserves the right to tear anyone down at any time
without a tear down fee if they feel that it is necessary.
The Board of Directors will maintain the authority to approve the use of an
engine outside the guidelines on a case-by-case basis to maintain fair play.
When you are disqualified, you are disqualified. No questions asked.
No whining, sniveling, cussing, or spitting allowed. This is a gentleman’s
sport.
Rules will not be changed during the season unless it is a safety
issue.
All adjustments must be made before scaling the machine.
If you go out before 75 foot mark you are D.Q.
$15.00 entry fee for club members for mod, outlaw and unlimited classes.
Non-members cost to enter is $20.00 for theses classes for insurance costs.
You must be a full time member to participate in the traveling trophies. Trophies will be
awarded to the highest placed member only.
Membership fee is $20.00 per machine per year.
Points will be earned at each
pull, only if the machine is registered on your membership card. You can join
the club without a machine for $10.00 per year. This includes a chance to vote
at our meetings and have say in what happens in our club. All club members
along with one guest are invited to the end of the year banquet.
Point system has a 1 throwaway pull per year.
All machines must be signed up prior to the drivers meeting or there will be
a $5.00 late fee. We ask those who will be competing, get to the pulls early
and sign-up as soon as possible. This will help avoid any confusion and help
get the show started on time.
